Mysterious History: A Requiem for Home

Tonight will be an exciting time for many. As Halloween descends, not only will celebrators flock to the streets and throw parties, we’ll also have the remaining festivities of this year to look forward to. It is deeply saddening for Mysterious History that we cannot properly celebrate this in the way that we should.

Less than a week ago, Southern Maine—the home for us at Mysterious History—was struck with a terrible tragedy. What is currently the tenth-deadliest mass shooting in United States history, and the worst in Maine’s history, devastated our community in ways that cannot be properly put into words. While the danger has passed, and trick-or-treaters can thankfully enjoy this wonderful holiday, the scars still remain. For many Maine families, Halloween this year will not be the same.

Mysterious History will resume its regular schedule starting on November 6th. Until then, please celebrate this time as best you can, and remember that no matter where you are in the world, things can get better.

Happy holidays.
